The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the recruitment notification for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2026. This year, the commission has announced a total of 12,256 vacancies for various Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts across central government ministries, departments, and offices.
The online application process started on May 21, 2026, and eligible graduates can submit their forms until June 22, 2026. This year, the SSC has also introduced major structural updates, including mandatory live photo capture during registration and a new sectional timer in the Tier-I exam.

SSC CGL 2026
- Sectional Timing in Tier-I: For the first time, a strict 15-minute sectional timer will apply to each of the four subjects (Reasoning, GK, Maths, and English). The screen will automatically switch when the time expires.
- Live Photo Verification: Candidates must use a webcam or mobile camera to capture a live photograph during registration. Pre-saved passport photos will not be accepted.
- New Tier-II Paper: A specialized Paper-III (General Studies – Finance and Economics) has been added specifically for Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer posts.
