Selection Process & Exam Pattern
The selection process involves three distinct phases:
- Preliminary Examination (Prelims): A screening test consisting of 150 objective multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to be solved within 2 hours. There is a negative marking of 1/3rd (0.33) mark for every incorrect answer.
- Main Examination (Mains): A descriptive written exam totaling 900 marks. Only candidates scoring above the prelims cutoff (selected at a 10:1 ratio relative to total vacancies) qualify for this stage.
- Interview: A personality test carrying 120 marks. The final merit list is prepared out of a total of 1,020 marks (Mains + Interview).
